3.2.3 Check of Sensitivity
Check the signal-to-noise ratio on a Raman spectrum of water (Raman scattering) under fixed
measurement conditions. For this sensitivity check, be sure to use a clean fluorescence cell containing
fresh distilled water. The procedure is as follows.
(1) To ensure stability of the Xe lamp, wait at least 30 minutes after turning on the lamp.
(2) Adjust the lamp to the optimum position with reference to section 3.1.
(3) Set the fluorescence cell containing distilled water into the sample compartment.
(4) Select [Sensitivity] or Sensitivity [BG] under [Utility] on the menu bar. The entire process from
parameter setting up to measurement will be executed automatically.
(5) After about 10 minutes, the results as shown in Fig. 3-13 (this figure is an example) will be indicated.
