3.2 Check of Performance
3.2.1 Check of EM Wavelength Accuracy
Utilizing the Hg bright lines included in a fluorescent lamp located in the room where the instrument is
installed, measure the spectrum in the vicinity of the bright lines and check the difference between the
wavelength of bright lines and the wavelength indication. Following is the procedure for this.
(1) Remove the lamp holder in the following procedure while observing the cautions below.
WARNING
Cautions on removing the lamp holder:
 Contact with the power supply (30 kV) for the Xe lamp could cause an
electric shock, resulting in fatal or serious injury. Prior to removing the
light source compartment cover, turn off the power and wait at least one
hour for the lamp to cool down sufficiently.
 There is a danger of burns upon contact with the heated Xe lamp.
Before replacing the lamp, turn off power and wait one hour or longer.
 There is also a danger of serious injury if the lamp explodes. Be sure
to wear proper protective gear such as safety goggles, safety mask,
thick long sleeves, and gloves when handling the lamp. Do not touch
the glass part of the lamp with bare hands so as to avoid leaving
fingerprints.
