Light source compartment cover
Remove this cover for replacing the Xe lamp. A cutoff switch is equipped for preventing ignition of the
lamp when the cover is removed.
Refer to section 4.3 for the method of removing this cover.
Light source air-cooling louvers
The Xe lamp is forcibly air-cooled by a cooling fan, and warm air from the lamp is discharged through
these louvers. Avoid placing any obstruction on these louvers.
Round lid for accessory
Remove the lid for using an accessory such as the optical fiber sample compartment, etc. The lid is an
embedded type, and can be detached/attached without using a tool.
Xe lamp positioning screws
Used for VERTICAL (up-down), FOCUS (fore-aft) and HORIZONTAL (left-right) adjustment of the Xe
lamp. Refer to section 3.1.1 for the method of adjustment.
Hole for admitting light for wavelength accuracy check
Used for introducing Hg bright lines included in fluorescent light into the light source compartment for
checking the wavelength accuracy. This hole is normally closed. Refer to section 3.2.1 for the
method of checking.
