9.2.5 Setting Frequency Command for Jogging and Inching Operation
How to drive the motor in short discrete steps?
How to perform inching?
Jogging operation allows positioning and fine adjustments while the motor is stopped.
After the "Jogging [JG]" input terminal is turned on, jogging operation can be started by giving
the RUN command.
During jogging operation, a frequency command is set according to the "Jogging frequency
[A038]" setting without including an acceleration time. This can easily lead to issue such as an
overcurrent trip. Be sure to appropriately adjust the [A038] to avoid a trip.
Jogging operation is given priority over "Frequency input source selection [A001]

Jogging [JG]:
After this terminal is turned on, jogging operation
starts once the RUN command is on.

*1. "2nd-motor control [SET]" target parameter. The second control parameter is also subject to setting.
*2. If "Jogging stop mode selection [A039]" is set to "Free run at jogging stop (00, 03)", the free run operation
settings are required. For details, refer to "9.7.6 Starting after Free Run Stop".
*3. If "Jogging stop mode selection [A039]" is set to "DC braking at jogging stop (02, 05)", the DC braking
settings are required. For details, refer to "9.7.8 Stopping with DC Braking".
Disabling jogging during operation ([A039] = "Disable at run (00, 01, 02)")
When "Jogging stop mode selection [A039]" is set to "Disable at run (00, 01, 02)", jogging cannot
be performed if the RUN command has been turned on first.
Enabling jogging during operation ([A039] = "Enable at run (03, 04, 05)")
When "Jogging stop mode selection [A039]" is set to "Enable at run (03, 04, 05)", jogging can be
performed even if the RUN command has been turned on first. However, if the [JG] terminal is
turned off first, a free-run stop is performed.
