POISON: Electrolyte is
poison.
ANTIDOTE:
External: Flush thoroughly
with water.
Internal: Drink large
quantities of water or milk.
Follow with milk of
magnesia or vegetable oil,
and call a physician
immediately.
KEEP OUT OF REACH OF
CHILDREN.
ANTIDOTE: If electrolyte gets
into your eyes, flush
thoroughly with warm water
for at least 15 minutes and
call a physician immediately.
Keep flames and sparks away,
and do not smoke in the area.
CHEMICAL HAZARD: Battery
electrolyte contains sulfuric
acid. Contact with eyes or
skin, even through clothing,
may cause severe burns.
Wear a faceshield and
protective clothing.
Batteries produce explosive
gases: If ignited, an explosion
can cause serious injury or
blindness. Provide adequate
ventilation when charging.

Battery Connections
INSTALLATION
To protect the battery from
mechanical damage and to prevent
the battery from falling or tipping
over, the battery must be:
Installed in the correct size
corrosion-re sistant batte ry box.
Properly secured in the boat.
Secured in a location free from
direct sunlight and water spray.
Secured away from the fuel tank
to avoid potential sparks near the
fuel tank.
Use a battery which has CCA
(COLD CRANKING AMPERES)
582A at 18°C (0°F) and a reserve
capacity 229 minutes (12V
55Ah/5HR or 12V 65Ah/20HR) or
more specifications.
The battery is an optional part (i.e.
part to be purchased separately from
the outboard motor).
