On-Site Monitoring (RS232 Interface Module)
If the Galaxy control panel is local to the Event Monitoring PC and the communication is via the RS232
Interface Module, then the following programming details require to be entered in the
56=COMMUNICATIONS option:
1. Select 2=RS232 and press the ent key.
2. Select 1=MODE and press the ent key.
i) Select 1=DIRECT and press the ent key.
3. Select 2=FORMAT and press the ent key.
i) Select 2=MICROTECH and press the ent key.
ii) Set the STATUS to ON and allocate the GROUPS that require to be monitored, for each of
the 18 TRIGGERS (alarm and event types) to be transmitted to the Event Monitoring PC.
4. Select 3=ACCOUNT NO. and press the ent key.
i) Enter the account number of the site (maximum six digits).
Remote Monitoring via the Ethernet Module
If the Galaxy control panel is being monitored remotely via a PC modem and the Galaxy Ethernet
configuration, then the panel requires the following programming details to be entered in menu option 56.
1. Select 4=ETHERNET and press the ent key.
2. Select 1=MODULE CONFIG and press the ent key.
3. Select 1=IP ADDRESS and press the ent key.
4. Enter the IP address of the Ethernet module.
5. If signalling over a wide area network (WAN) select 3=GATEWAY IP and press the ent key.
6. Enter the address of the Gateway Router.
7. Select 2=ALARM REPORT and press the ent key.
8. Press esc and select 1=FORMAT and press the ent key.
i. Select 1=MICROTECH and press the ent key.
ii. Set the STATUS to ON and allocate the GROUPS that require to be monitored, for each
of the 18 TRIGGERS (alarm and event types) to be transmitted to the Event Monitoring
PC.
9. Select 2=PRIMARY IP and press the ent key
10. Select 1=IP ADDRESS and press the ent key.
11. Enter the IP address of the destination PC and press the ent key.
12. Select 2=PORT NO. and press the ent key.
13. Enter the IP port number of the destination PC (Default = 10002), then press the ent key
14. Press the esc key
15. Select 4=ACCOUNT NO. and press the ent key.
i. Enter the account number of the site (maximum 6 digits)
16. If using UDP signaling select 8 =PROTOCOL and press the ent key
