Appendix E : Galaxy Gold Messages
The details below outline the basic explanations of the main Galaxy messages
Message Description
Access disabled at Galaxy panel Unable to communicate with Galaxy panel after successfully
connecting to telecom module or RS232 module. Check status of
Galaxy panel.
Busy, please wait...
Selected comm port is not ready for communication. Wait for port
to reset.
Call from site answered. Checking password. Confirming that the password on the Galaxy Gold site file and the
Galaxy panel that initiated the call match.
Cannot disconnect cleanly from Site Galaxy Gold is unable to hang up from the Galaxy site after
transmitting the Call Back Digit.
Cannot connect to COM X
Message is displayed during setup if the comm port select is being
used by another application or is not present on the PC. Remove
application from comm port OR select another comm port in
the Setup option.
Cannot communicate with Galaxy. Terminating
connection
Successful connection to the Galaxy panel is broken. Check
telecom module/RS232 module and cable connections.
Cannot communicate with PC Modem.
Terminating connection.
No reply from PC modem on transmission of reset string. Check
modem reset string values in the Setup option AND that the
modem is present on the comm port selected.
Cannot Communicate with Remote Module
Failure to recognise device dialed. Check remote number is
correct. Telecom Module: Check that telecom module is
connected to the remote number telephone line. Check that
Pulse or Tone is selected in Galaxy Gold Setup.RS232 Module:
Check the baud rate matches the baud rate in the Galaxy Gold
Setup Check that the correct cable (null modem) is connected.
Checking Password... Confirm the password on the Galaxy Gold site file and the Galaxy
panel match.
Copying Log Event log of Galaxy panel is being copied to the Galaxy Gold site
file.
Dialing Site... Galaxy Gold is dialing the telecom module/RS232 module.
Disconnecting Modem Port Galaxy Gold is being exited while connected to a Galaxy panel.
Disconnecting from Site Galaxy Gold is hanging up from the Galaxy panel after transmitting
the Call Back Digit.
Error: Cannot detect copy protection device
[Dongle] Please ensure device is connected to
printer port.
The correct copy protection device is not connected to the parallel
printer port (LPT1). Check that the copy protection device that
was packaged with the Galaxy Gold is connected to LPT1.
Error in PC Modem command Modem returns an error code to Galaxy Gold following the modem
reset. Check modem reset string values in the Setup option. Try
adding the command W0 and/or F4 at the end of the string.
Error[s1] Timed out waiting for data transfer This error occurs during copying site or overwriting site if no data
transfer occurs for a 20 second period.
Error[s2] Cannot access communication port. Selected comm port is being used by another device or is not
present on the PC. Remove device from comm port OR select
another comm port in the Setup option.
Illegal Username/Password Invalid user name and/or password entered in the Active User
window. Re-enter a valid user name and password.
Incoming call, dialing aborted. Call being received by the PC modem. Call to the Galaxy panel is
aborted.
Incorrect reply from PC modem. Invalid code returned from PC modem following transmission of
modem reset string. Check modem reset string values in the
Setup option.
