POWER-UP SELF-TEST/DlAGNOSTlC MODE
Description:
During the power-up sequence, the HP
5334B
performs a fairly thorough check of major com-
ponents.
Procedure:
1.
Set the HP 5334B as follows:
POWER

Observe:
STANDBY LED goes out.
2.
All front panel LEDs light momentarily (except STANDBY LED which does not light and ARM and
GATE annunciators which flash alternately).
3.
The instrument's model number, "HP
5334b",
is displayed.
4.
The instrument's HP-IB address is displayed. (Address
"03"
is
set at the factory but can be set by the user to
addresses
"00"
to
"30").
5.
If the instrument successfully executes the power-up self-test routine, the front panel displays "PASS" and
then defaults to preset conditions.

What Checked:
1.
The three microcomputers perform a ROM and RAM check.
2.
The alternately flashing
ARM
and GATE annunciators indicate that the Measurement microcomputer pas-
ses the
ROM/RAM test.
3.
The Executive microcomputer runs the front panel display check.
4.
The Executive and Measurement microcomputers perform a limited InputIOutput port check.
5.
The Measurement microcomputer checks for the presence of a time base oscillator.
6.
A test of the ~~lti~le-~e~ister Counter (MRC) is made to check for basic operation.
