Display panel
NOTE: You MUST remove and replace all parts that come in the kit.
NOTE: Do not reuse any old parts. Return all old parts to HP for warranty processing.
Display panels are available from two different manufacturers — SOC and BOE.
Display panels require a backlight cable specific to the manufacturer. Make sure you use the backlight
cable packaged with the display panel.
The display panel is secured to the base pan with four Torx screws.
To remove the display panel:
1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (see
Preparing to disassemble the computer on page 27).
2. Remove the rear cover (see
Rear cover on page 30).
3. Remove the webcam (see
Webcam module on page 43).
4. Remove the bottom stand (see
Bottom stand on page 48).
5. Remove the front bezel (see
Front bezel on page 50).
