To replace the blank, slide the blank into the bay until it locks into place.

Removing and replacing a hot-plug drive
CAUTION: To prevent improper cooling and thermal damage, do not operate the server unless all bays are
populated with either a component or a blank.
Procedure
1.
Back up all server data on the drive.
2.
Determine the status of the drive from the drive LED definitions.

3.
Remove the drive.
To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure.
Removing and replacing an NVMe drive
An NVMe SSD is a PCIe BUS device. Devices attached to a PCIe bus cannot be removed without allowing the device and
the bus to complete and cease signal/traic flow.
Procedure
1. Back up all server data.
2. Observe the LED status of the drive and determine if it can be removed.
