(CHP) port

In addition, the performance values of LDEVs for the following metrics are also displayed for the XP and
the XP7 disk arrays:
• LDEV IO/s– Frontend: The total Frontend I/Os for all random reads, random writes, sequential reads,
and sequential writes during the reporting period
• LDEV MB/s– Frontend: The total Frontend throughput in MB/s for the LDEV
• Average Read Response (msec): The average response of LDEVs for the reads is the average time
taken in millisecond for read IOs from the time the Read command is received at the array host port to
the time the array has returned a good status frame to the host indicating a successful completion of
the command after transferring the data. The data transfer time, which relies on the switch buffer
availability to receive data frames, is included in the read response time.
• Average Write Response (msec): The average time taken in terms of millisecond for write IOs from the
time the write command is received at the array host port to the time the array has returned a good
status frame to the host indicating a successful completion of the write command after reception of the
data from the host. The data transfer time, which relies on the switch buffer availability to send data
frames to the array, is included in the write response time.
