You can locate a component in either of the following ways:
Locating a component based on alarms in DeviceManager: On the Alarms and Events
page of DeviceManager, view the help information and determine the ID of the
component to be replaced. Then locate the component at your site based on its ID.
Locating a component based on the status of its Running/Alarm indicator: For details
about the indicators on
dierent components, see Indicator Introduction of each
component in the
Product Description
specic to your product model and version.
You have conrmed that the cables of the expansion module to be replaced
are properly connected using Huawei Storage Product Networking Assistant
(https://support.huawei.com/onlinetoolsweb/sna/#/home).
The cable connection positions have been labeled on the spare part.
The cables have been disconnected from the expansion module that you want
to replace.
Before removing a SAS cable, gently push the connector of the cable inward. Then pull the
plastic ring on the connector outward until the cable is completely removed from the
expansion module.
Precautions
Remove and insert an expansion module with even force. Excessive force may
damage the appearance or connectors of the expansion module.
Shorten the duration of replacing an expansion module as short as possible.

Procedure
Step 1 Check status before replacement.
1. Check system status.
Start SmartKit and choose Home > Storage > Routine Maintenance >
Health Check. On the Health Check page, perform inspection as instructed.
For details, see 6.1.2 Checking System Status.
If any items fail the inspection, rectify the faults by performing the recommended
actions in the inspection reports. Ensure that all other parts except the parts to be
replaced are working properly.
2. Check the status of the parts to be replaced.
Start SmartKit and choose Home > Storage > Parts Replacement > More >
Parts Replacement (CRU). On the CRU replacement page, complete the
check before the replacement as prompted. For details, see 6.1.3 Replacing a
CRU.
