I f t he lum inom eter is on but has not been used for 19 m inut es, it will
beep every 10 seconds for 1 m inut e, and then turn off. I f any k ey is
pr essed during that tim e the lum inom et er will r eset t he St andby Mode
count down. The St andby Mode set t ings can be changed ( see sect ion
3.11) .
To turn the lum inom eter back on, sim ply press the but t on.

When t he lum inom eter is turned on (see sect ion
2.3) , it perform s an int er nal calibr at ion, as t he
display count s down from 15 t o 0 seconds.
N OTE: Dur ing the calibration sequence, ther e m ust
not be a testing device in the lum inom et er and the
lid m ust rem ain closed. I f the icon is show n wit h t he arrow flashing,
open the lid and rem ove t he test ing device fr om t he lum inom et er. I f
the icon is flashing, close the lid. I f it is still flashing, m ake sure t he
rubber flap covering the RS232 port is tucked under the lip and is flat .
TI P: The but t on can be pressed at any tim e to access t he set - up
m enu opt ions (see section 3) .
When t he calibrat ion is com plet e, t he lum inom eter is ready t o perform
a sam ple measurem ent .

N OTE: When t he lum inom eter is ready t o perform a
m easurement, with t he lid closed and no testing
device present , t he lum inom et er will aut om atically
perform a recalibr at ion cycle under any of the following
cir cum stances:

The user pr esses and holds down the butt on for 1 second.
•
The lum inom et er is used in an environm ent where the
tem perature changes significant ly ( t ypically m ore than + / - 5
o
C).

The lum inom et er can store up to 2000 test result s
in it s internal m em ory. When the m em ory is m ore
than 95% full ( i.e. less t han 100 test s rem aining)
the following warning sym bol is display ed.
When t he m em ory becom es com pletely full, no
addit ional t ests can be perform ed until the m em ory is eit her erased
or uploaded to the PC ( see sect ions 3.6 and 5 respect ively) . Test can
be perform ed if Save Test is t ur ned off ( see sect ion 3.13)
