Ad j u st i n g t h e LCD Co n t r as t
The cont rast of the LCD screen is fact or y set at it s opt im um level for
norm al operating condit ions. However, in ex t rem es of tem perat ure
the display m ay appear too dark or light.
This set ting can be m anually adj usted by select ing t he LCD
CON TRAST m enu opt ion by pr essing t he but t on. Scr oll to
“ CONTRAST” and press . Then use t he or but t on to increase or
decr ease the contrast level, followed by the button t o st or e t he new
set t ing:
darker ( + 1 to + 5 )
Norm al (0 )
light er ( - 1 t o - 5 )

Qu i ck Bo o t
The lum inom eter will tur n on when you press t he
but t on. The
lum inom eter w ill perform a standar d calibration in 15 seconds and will
then be ready t o perform readings. Quick Boot can be turned off and
the lum inom et er will perform a m ore in- depth syst em check t he nex t
tim e it is t urned on. The m ore in- dept h syst em check tak es 60
seconds.
N OTE: The m ore in-dept h system check is ty pically used for
diagnostic purposes and not necessary for nor m al use.
To change the Quick Boot setting, select the QUI CK BOOT m enu
option by pressing the butt on. Scroll t o “ QUI CK BOOT” and press
but t on t o sw it ch bet w een ON and OFF

St an d b y M o d e
The Standby Mode is used t o control when t he lum inom et er should
aut om atically t ur n off when not in use. This is designed t o conserve
bat t er y power .
The default is 20 m inut es. If no buttons are pressed wit hin the tim e
per iod, t he lum inom et er will tur n off. If any but t on is pressed, or a
reading is perform ed, t he Standby Mode count down t im er is reset to
zero.
