ASCII Nonprogrammable Workstation as the System Console
If you have
an
ASCII workstation as the system console, perform the following steps:
1 Prepare the ASCII workstation using the device information.
Verify the workstation settings, shown below.

If necessary, see the ASCII Work Station Reference book, or use the manual that came with the
workstation.
2 Ensure that the port 0 connector of the ASCII cable is connected at the workstation.
Note:
If the cable does not correctly match the connector on the workstation, you may use a
9-to-25 pin adapter.
3 Ensure that the workstation power cord
is
not plugged in the ac outlet.
4 Connect the workstation cable to the ASCII connector
on
the back of the
9401
System Unit. Verify
that the cable is labeled at both ends.
