Set the System Values
This chapter provides instructions for setting the system time and date, installing applications, and printing
the system configuration list.
Set the System Date and Time
1 Set the system date. The default value for the system date
is
mmddyy.
mm=
month
dd
=day
yy
=year
Where mmddyy appears
in
this procedure, type the current date. For example, the date for Feb-
ruary
7,
1995 would
be
entered
as
020795. The system date format can also
be
yymmdd or
ddmmyy.
On
the command line
of
the AS/400 Main Menu, type the following and press the Enter key:
chgsysval sysval (qdate) value('mmddyy')
2 Set the system time.
The default value for the system time
is
hhmmss.
hh
= hour
(1
through
24)
mm=
minutes
ss
=seconds
Where hhmmss appears
in
this procedure, type the current time. For example, the time 4:30 p.m.
(12-hour clock) would
be
entered as 163000.
On
the command line of the AS/400 Main Menu, type the following and press the Enter key:
chgsysval sysval (qtime) value('hhmmss')
3 Change the message queue
to
Break mode.
On
the command line of the AS/400 Main Menu, type the following and press the Enter key:
chgmsgq
qsysopr *break sev(65)
4 Press
F3
(Exit) until you reach the AS/400 Main Menu.
