Setup:
This section contains instructions for installing the support functions
on
the Macintosh workstation system
console. To use the Programmable Workstation Local Attachment Support, you must first install the
SNA•ps 5250 Version 1.2 application
on
the Macintosh workstation. For more information
on
the
IBM
Programmable Workstation Local Attachment for Macintosh support, open the Read Me files
in
the
SNA•ps folder.
The Macintosh workstation appears to the
9401
System Unit as a locally attached 5250 device. The
workstation emulated depends
on
the display type (color or monochrome) and the screen size specified
in
the SNA•ps 5250 Version 1
.2
application.
To configure the Macintosh workstation as the system console, use the following procedure:
1 Power
on
the Macintosh workstation.
2 Install the SNA•ps 5250 Version 1.2 application
on
the Macintosh workstation.
Go
to the device information for installation and configuration procedures for the SNA•ps 5250
application.
After you have installed the support functions, return here and continue to the next step of this
procedure.

At
the workstation, choose the console selection using the mouse. Perform the following proce-
dure:
a.
Double-click
on
the icon for the hard drive
on
which the SNA•ps folder
is
installed.
b.
Double-click
on
the SNA•ps folder.
c.
Double-click
on
the 5250 Access/AT Documents folder.
d.
Double-click
on
the Console document.
4 Power off the Macintosh workstation.
5 Go
to
Chapter
4,
"Connect the Cable and Modem for Electronic Customer Support"
on
page 4-1.
