3 Attach the workstation end of the workstation cable to the workstation connector
on
the personal
computer.
Note: If the cable does not correctly match the connector
on
the workstation, you may use a
9-to-25 pin adapter.
4 Attach the system end of the workstation cable to connector P2
on
the attachment cable (see
Figure 3-3
on
page
3-11
).
5 Attach the power cord to the personal computer and plug the power cord into the ac outlet. Power
on
the personal computer.

To start the Microsoft Windows program, type the following at the DOS prompt
and
press the Enter key.

7 Insert the first Client Access/400 Console installation diskette in drive
A.
8 Run the Client Access/400 installation program (Install) by performing the following:
a.
Select File
on
the Windows Program Manager menu bar.
b.
Select Run on File menu.
c.
The
Run
dialog box appears. At the Command Line box, type the following and press the Enter
key:

INSTALL
9 Determine
if
you want to
run
PC5250 or RUMBA/400 emulation. From the display, select the
correct emulation.
10 Follow the prompts for emulation install instructions (for example, you may
be
asked to insert a
diskette).

Configure the PC5250 or RUMBA/400 emulation for the serial port that you are using (for example,
COM1).
12 Exit Microsoft Windows
and
power off the personal computer.
13 Go to Chapter 4, "Connect the Cable and Modem for Electronic Customer Support"
on
page 4-1.
