To install the tape unit, go to "External Tape Unit Installation Procedure"
on
page 5-3,
and then return here and continue with the next step of this procedure.
If a service representative is scheduled to install the additional devices, ensure that
the installation instructions are kept with the device.
If
you choose to perform the IPL without the additional devices, continue with the next
step of this procedure.
5 Plug the power cords for the
9401
System Unit and all the system devices (workstations, printers,
modems, and the external tape unit) into the ac outlets.
6 Power
on
all the workstations, printers, modems, and the external tape unit.
Note: Do not power on the
9401
System Unit at this time.
7 Install the back cover of the system unit.

a. Slide the bottom clips into the lower slots of the system

Grip the upper corners of the cover and push into the upper portion of the unit.
8 Your system is prepared for
an
IPL. Keep all materials for use by the service representative
in
a
safe place.
9 Go to Chapter
6,
"Perform an Initial Program Load" on page 6-1.
