Chapter 17 CPU Board
P-11 Ribbon Rewind Rotation (Ribbon Save)
This strap controls the rotation of the stepper motor that drives the
ribbon rewind unit in the optional ribbon save device. The strap
should always be set to position FW (forward).
Pin 12: Forward
Pin 23: Backward
Default: Jumper on pin 1-2
P-100 to P-102 ROM Expansion Select
These three straps specify whether EPROMs or Flash Memory
packages are tted on all the sockets IC-100 thru IC-105. EPROMs
and Flash Memory packages cannot be mixed.
Pin 12: Flash Memory
Pin 23: 512 kbyte EPROMs in any sockets

No jumpers: No EPROMs larger than 256 kbyte
Default: No jumpers tted

/. Jumpers tted on pin 23 may be used for any size of EPROMs, but are
required if the size is 512K (4 Mbit).
P-200 DTR/RTS Select
This strap selects DTR or RTS signal for RS-232 on "uart1:", pin
20 (also see Chapter 18.2).
Pin 12: DTR indicates printer turned on.
Pin 23: A copy of RTS signal is produced.
Default: Jumper on pin 12
P-202 Interface Select
This strap selects one of three types of interface on "uart1:":
Upper position: RS-232
Middle position: 20 mA current loop (requires additional
opto-couplers on IC-205 and IC-206, see
above).
Lower position: RS-422 (requires additional circuit to be
tted on IC-207, see above).
Default: RS-232
P-203 External +5V enable
This strap enables +5V on "uart1:", pin 16, for example for con-
nection of an external keyboard. Max. 200 mA.
Default: No jumper tted
CAUTION!
The external +5V may cause harm to some devices. Check cable con gura-
tion and speci cations of the device before making the connection.
