Power Supplies
The IFC-1010/2020 requires connection to a separate dedicated AC fire
alarm circuit, which must be labeled FIRE ALARM. This AC circuit
must connect to the line side of the main light and power feed of the
protected premises. No other equipment may be powered from the fire
alarm circuit. The AC circuit wire run must run continuously, without
disconnect devices, from the power source to the Fire Alarm Control
Panel (FACP). Overcurrent protection for this circuit must comply with
Article 760 of the National Electrical Code (NEC) as well as local codes.
Use 12 AWG wire with 600V insulation for this circuit. Table 3 and
Table 4 calculate the total amount of current, in AC amperes, that the
AC service must be capable of supplying to the system.
