Hardware Installation—Installing the
IFC-1010/2020
The M5x0CJ Control Module is an addressable module that supervises
and switches power to a Notification Appliance Circuit (NAC). The
M5x0CJ circuit can be wired as an NFPA Style Y or Style Z NAC.
Alternately, the M5x0CJ can be employed as a Form-C relay
(refer to Figure 64). Refer to Figure 65 through Figure 69 for M5x0CJ
wiring diagrams.
Note: The M5x0CJ refers either to the M500CJ or M510CJ through the
remainder of this document, unless otherwise noted.

Connect the SLC Loop to M5x0CJ Terminals 1 (-) and 2 (+). The M5x0CJ
occupies one module address on the SLC Loop. Set the rotary switches on
the M5x0CJ to the particular SLC loop address required (each M5x0CJ
must have a unique module address, 01-99).
To configure a M5x0CJ as a Form-C relay, the two tabs must be broken
off the module. Use a pair of needlenose pliers to break off each tab.
!
WARNING: The tabs must be broken before the connection of
any power source to the Form-C terminals.
Make connections to the common and normally-open or normally-closed
contacts on the M5x0CJ as needed. (Refer to Figure 69 for a wiring
diagram).
Notification appliance power can be supplied to M5x0CJ control modules
by any one of the supplies illustrated in Figure 65. This power is
unsupervised and must be connected to a power supervision relay wired to
a M5x0CJ control module (refer to Figure 66 through Figure 68). When a
remote power supply is employed, it must also be supervised.
