2-1-1 Replacing the Head Unit
1) Shut down the air to the main unit.
2) Remove the head PCB cover.
3) Remove the head main board bracket assembly screw. Lift to the top and remove the connector
of the head up cylinder sensor cable connected to the head relay board on the bottom side.
4) Disconnect the Z-motor and θ-motor connectors (Zθ driver board) and remove the cable fixing.
5) Remove the connector connected to the solenoid valve and remove the cable fixing.
6) Remove the air tubes connected to the solenoid valve (φ6 x 1, φ8 x 2).
7) Remove the solenoid valve cable for the head-up cylinder (relay connector).
8) Remove the air tube connected to the solenoid valve for the head-up cylinder (φ6 × 1).
9) Remove the air tube secured to the top of head SV bracket and the cable fixing.
10) Remove the OCC camera cable.
11) Remove the cable connected to the temperature sensor board.
12) Remove the θ axis origin sensor amplifier cable (relay connector).
13) Remove the fixing of the fiber connected to the θ axis origin sensor. * Do not unplug the fiber.
14) Remove the cable fixing of LNC 120-8.
15) Check to make sure that the cable fixings on top of head SV bracket and right side of the head
have been removed.
16) Remove M4 × L10 (hexagon socket head cap bolt: 2 pcs.), M5 x L16 (washer assembled
hexagon socket head cap bolt: 4 pcs). Move the head unit parallel to the front so that it does not
touch other parts, and remove it.
Adjustment shims may be included in each screw part (between the head bracket and the
head plate). Be sure to check the presence of a shim before removing the head unit. Also,
when reassembling, please insert the shim in the same place and do assembly.
17) Reassemble the components in the reverse order of disassembly.
18) After replacing the head unit, it is necessary to re-input the MS parameters. For details about
input items, see section 2-2, Re-adjustment after Replacing the Head.
Apply Loctite 243 to the head unit assembly screws (6 pcs.) and tighten them with a tightening
torque of 3.7 N·m (M4: 2 pcs.), 7.0 N·m (M 5: 4 pcs.) during assembly.
To connect each motor connector, see the location label.
