How to fix loose stitches on my JUKI SADE Sewing Machine?
    • R
      Robert HartmanAug 12, 2025
Loose stitches on your JUKI Sewing Machine can occur for several reasons. Ensure the bobbin thread passes correctly through the tension spring of the inner hook. If the thread path has been poorly finished, remove rough parts with fine emery paper or buff it up. A bobbin that fails to move smoothly should be replaced, along with the hook if necessary. If the bobbin thread tension is too low, increase it. If the bobbin has been wound too tightly, decrease the tension applied to the bobbin winder. If the bobbin case opening lever provides too much clearance at the bobbin, refer to "6.7. Adjusting the bobbin case opening lever" p. 63.

Why does the thread keep breaking on my JUKI SADE?
    • C
      Chad ReeseAug 16, 2025
If the thread breaks on your JUKI Sewing Machine, it could be due to several reasons. The needle thread tension might be too high or too low; in this case, you should either decrease or increase the needle thread tension accordingly. Another cause could be sharp edges or burrs on the thread path, needle point, hook blade point, or bobbin case resting groove on the throat plate. If so, remove them using fine emery paper, and buff the bobbin case resting groove. Also, check if the thread take-up spring works excessively or its stroke is too small. If it is, decrease the tension and increase the stroke of the spring. Ensure that the amount of oil in the hook is adequate. If the needle comes into contact with the blade point of the hook, refer to section "6.5. Needle-to-hook re- lation" p. 61.

What to do if my JUKI SADE is skipping stitches?
    • N
      Nancy LawsonAug 20, 2025
Stitch skipping on your JUKI Sewing Machine can occur if the pressure of the presser foot is too low; tighten the presser spring regulator to resolve this. If an improper needle type is used, replace it with one that is thicker by one count. If the timing between the needle and the hook is excessively advanced or retarded, or if the clearance between the top end of the needle eyelet and the blade point of the hook is incorrect, refer to section "6.5. Needle-to-hook re- lation" p. 61. If the hook needle guard is not functional, refer to section "6.6. Adjusting the hook needle guard" p. 63.

Why is the thread not being cut sharply on my JUKI SADE Sewing Machine?
    • A
      Alicia SanchezAug 25, 2025
If the thread is not cut sharply by your JUKI Sewing Machine, it might be due to improperly adjusted blades of the moving knife and counter knife; in this case, refer to section "6.8. Adjusting the po- sition of counter knife, knife pressure and clamp pressure" p. 64. Also, the knives might have blunt blades, so replace the moving knife and counter knife with new ones, or correct the current ones. If the bobbin thread tension is too low, increase it.

What causes the thread to slip off the needle eyelet at the start of sewing with my JUKI SADE?
    • T
      Teresa BlackAug 28, 2025
If thread slips off the needle eyelet at the start of sewing with your JUKI Sewing Machine, it could be due to high thread tension from tension controller No. 1; decrease this tension. The clamp spring might also be deformed, so replace it or correct the current one. If the bobbin thread tension is too low, increase it.

Why does the thread slip off the needle eyelet during thread trimming on my JUKI Sewing Machine?
    • A
      Annette McbrideAug 31, 2025
If the thread slips off the needle eyelet simultaneously with thread trimming on your JUKI Sewing Machine, the thread tension given by the tension controller No. 1 might be too high. Decrease the thread tension given by the tension controller No. 1.

What to do if the thread remains un-cut after thread trimming on my JUKI SADE Sewing Machine?
    • M
      Michelle ClarkSep 4, 2025
If the thread remains un-cut after thread trimming on your JUKI Sewing Machine, it could be because the initial position of the moving knife has been improperly adjusted; refer to the Engineer’s Manual. Another reason could be that the bobbin thread tension is too low, so increase it.

Why does the thread break at the start of sewing after thread trimming on my JUKI SADE Sewing Machine?
    • M
      Maria RamirezSep 8, 2025
If your JUKI Sewing Machine experiences thread breaks at the start of sewing after thread trimming, the needle thread might be caught in the hook. Shorten the length of thread remaining on the needle after thread trimming. Refer to section "6.2. Thread tension" p. 58.
