Limits test
Definition
The limits testing operation allows you to adjust maximal and minimal limit values. The multimeter
beeps and a "HI" or "LO" message will be shown when the reading exceeds the upper or lower
limits. When you specify the limit values, they are stored in volatile memory. The default values for
both upper and lower limits are "0." This function can be used with all measurements (except
continuity and diode measurements).
Setting limits values or making a limits test
You can set limit values or make a limits test either through the front panel or a remote interface.
To set limits values from the front panel:
1. Configure the Limits math function by pressing CONFIG + SHIFT + RATIO, and then use
the PREV and NEXT keys to select either MIN or MAX, and press ENTER.
2. Use the PREV and NEXT keys to move through the digits and the up and down arrow
keys to increase or decrease the numbers to a desired value.
3. Press ENTER to set the value (refer to Figure 4-20).
