NOTE An error message may appear on the front-panel display when you restart your Model
2100. If it does, you will need to click Continue and install the front-end firmware revision
update file (1232_xxx.bin) following the procedures listed above.
If you do not receive an error message, you do not need to install the 1232_xxx.bin
update file.
7. The 2100 (USBTMC) Update Version window will reappear when the installation is
complete. Click Exit to exit the firmware update installation (see Figure 4-40).
To confirm the update has been properly completed, check the firmware revision number (see To
check the firmware revision).
Calibration
The Model 2100 will show the latest calibrated date and the next calibration date on the display
after following the operation below (refer to
Figure 4-41 for the location of the keys used).
To view calibration information:
1. Press the MENU key, then use the PREV and NEXT keys to select the CALIBRATE option.
2. Press ENTER, then use the PREV and NEXT keys to switch between the last calibrated
date and the next calibration date.

Self-test
Self-test procedures are built in the Model 2100 for checking that the logic and measurement
hardware are functioning properly. Every time the multimeter is powered on, a set of test
procedures is performed to make sure the basic function of the multimeter works properly. If any
error occurs during self-test procedures, it indicates that parts of the multimeter are not operating
properly and need to be serviced.
