MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE
CHECK AND TIGHTEN TRACK SHOE BOLTS
If the machine is used with track shoe bolts (1) loose, they will
break, so tighten any loose bolts immediately.
Tightening
1.
First tighten to a tightening torque of 196 ± 19.6 Nm (20 ± 2 kgm, 144.7 ± 14.5 lbft) then check that the nut and
shoe are in close contact with the link contact surface.
2. After checking, tighten the angle of the shoe bolts a further 90° ± 10° for steel shoes (120° ± 10° for swamp
shoes) and 60° ± 10° for road liners.
Order for Tightening
Tighten the bolts in the order shown in the diagram on the right.
After tightening, check that the nut and shoe are in close contact
with the link mating surface.
