1-6-4 Drum section
(1) Detaching and refitting the drum unit
Follow the procedure below to replace the drum unit.
Cautions:
Avoid direct sunlight or strong light when detaching and refitting the drum unit.
Never touch the drum surface when holding the drum unit.
Procedure
1. Open the front cover and left cover. Remove
the waste toner box and toner container.
2. Remove the inner cover.
3. Remove the screw and then remove the
developing wire cover.
4. Pull the developing release lever and then
release the developing unit.

5. Remove the screw and detach the two con-
nectors.
6. Remove the drum unit from MFP.
7. Replace the drum unit and refit all the
removed parts.
When installing the drum unit, open the
drum cover to outside (machine left side).
