Troubleshooting
LUNGS
Problem
Lungs not functioning properly
Possible Solution
Check that the Airway resistance is not set to maximum in
the Instructor Application.
Open the torso and chest plate. Check that the lungs are
free to expand and are not restricted by any cables.
Check that the lung bladders are properly connected, and
that the tubes are not twisted.
Check that the lung bladders are in a horizontal position
and inserted correctly. Ensure that the lung compliance
O-rings lie between the folds of the lung bladders.
Check for flaws or ruptures in the lung bladders.
Check that the two lung compliance O-rings are fitted
correctly. Replace O-rings if they appear to be damaged.
Check that there are no obstructions inside the manikin
airways which may block air flow.
If there is no change when adjusting lung compliance,
contact Laerdal Technical Service.
