Look into the eyepieces.
Rotate each eyepiece
individually clockwise, in
the "–5" direction, until
each eye sees the writing in
sharp focus.

Set maximum
magnification
(4).

Bring the writing on the
sheet into focus.

Turn out the eyecups to the
desired distance.
The writing should now remain sharp when you change the
magnification.

If it does not, repeat the procedure.
7.19 Adjusting the parfocality without
camera and monitor
Parfocal means that the sharpness remains constant over
the entire magnification range.

Adjust the diopter settings for both eyes separately and
accurately.
Personal diopeter setting known:

Set dioptric correction on
eyepieces.
Personal diopeter setting unknown:

Adjust the dioptric setting
at the eyepiece to 0.

Place a piece of paper with
writing on it under the
objective.

Set maximum magnification

sheet of paper into focus.
