–Iftheexternalmonitorsupportsalowerresolutionthanthecomputerdisplay,viewoutputonthe
externalmonitoronly.(Ifyouviewoutputontheboththecomputerdisplayandtheexternal
monitor,theexternalmonitorscreenwillbeblankordistorted.)
•Problem:Youcannotsetahigherresolutionthanthepresentoneonyourexternalmonitor.
Solution:
–Ensurethatmonitorinformationiscorrect.Dothefollowing:
1.Right-clickonthedesktop,andclickScreenresolution.
Note:Ifyourcomputercannotdetecttheexternalmonitor,clicktheDetectbutton.
2.Clicktheiconforthedesiredmonitor(theMonitor-2iconisfortheexternalmonitor).
3.ClickAdvancedSettings.
4.ClicktheAdaptertab.
5.Ensurethatthecorrectdevicedrivernameisshownintheadapterinformationwindow.
Note:Thedevicedrivernamedependsonthevideochipthathasbeeninstalledonyourcomputer.
6.ClickOK.
Iftheinformationisincorrect,reinstallthedevicedriver.
–Checkthemonitortypeand,ifnecessary,updatethedriverbydoingthefollowing:
1.Connecttheexternalmonitortothemonitorconnector,andthenconnectthemonitortoan
electricaloutlet.
2.Turnontheexternalmonitorandthecomputer.
3.Right-clickonthedesktop,andclickScreenresolution.
Note:Ifyourcomputercannotdetecttheexternalmonitor,clicktheDetectbutton.
4.Clicktheiconforthedesiredmonitor(theMonitor-2iconisfortheexternalmonitor).
5.ClickAdvancedSettings.
6.ClicktheMonitortab.Checkthemonitorinformationwindowtoensurethatthemonitortypeis
correct.Ifitis,clickOKtoclosethewindow;otherwisedothefollowing.
7.Ifmorethanonemonitortypeisdisplayed,selectGenericPnPMonitororGenericNon-PnP
Monitor.
8.ClickProperties.Ifyouarepromptedforanadministratorpasswordorconrmation,typethe
passwordorprovideconrmation.
9.ClicktheDrivertab.
10.ClickUpdateDriver.
11.ClickBrowsemycomputerfordriversoftware,andthenclickLetmepickfromalistof
devicedriversonmycomputer.
12.CleartheShowcompatiblehardwarecheckbox.
13.SelectManufacturerandModelforyourmonitor.
14.Afterupdatingthedriver,clickClose.
15.SetResolution.
Note:Tochangethecolorsettings,selecttheMonitortab,thensetColors.
16.ClickOK.
