Toinstallacard,dothefollowing:
1.Locatetheappropriatetypeofslotforyourcard.See“Locatingcomputercontrols,connectors,
features,andindicators”onpage1.
2.Ensurethatthecardiscorrectlyoriented:
•ForExpressCard:Thenotchededgeofthecardisfacingupwardandpointingtowardtothecardslot.
•Forashmediacard:Themetalcontactsarefacingdownandpointingtowardthecardslot.
3.Pressthecardrmlyintothecardslot.
Iftheplug-and-playfeatureisnotenabledfortheinstalledExpressCard,orashmediacard,dothe
followingtoenablethefeature:
1.OpenControlPanel.
2.ClickHardwareandSound.
3.ClickDeviceManager.Ifyouarepromptedforanadministratorpasswordorconrmation,typethe
passwordorprovideconrmation.
4.FromtheActionmenu,selectAddlegacyhardware.TheAddHardwareWizardstarts.
5.Followtheinstructionsonthescreen.
RemovinganExpressCardoraashmediacard
Attention:
•Beforeremovingacard,stopthecardrst.Otherwise,dataonthecardmightbecorruptedorlost.
•Donotremoveacardwhilethecomputerisinsleepmodeorhibernationmode.Otherwise,thesystem
mightnotrespondwhenyoutrytoresumeoperation.
Toremoveacard,dothefollowing:
1.Clickthetriangularicononthetaskbartoshowhiddenicons.Then,right-clicktheSafelyRemove
HardwareandEjectMediaicon.
2.Selecttheitemyouwanttoremovetostopthecard.
3.Pressthecardtoejectitfromyourcomputer.
4.Removethecardandstoreitsafelyforfutureuse.
Note:IfyoudonotremovethecardfromyourcomputerafteryouejectthecardfromtheWindowsoperating
system,thecardcannolongerbeaccessed.Toaccessthecard,youmustremoveitrst,theninsertitagain.
