Beforeyoubegin,printalltherelatedinstructionsorensurethatyoucanviewthePDFversiononanother

ToinstalltheTR500key,dothefollowing:
1.Removeallmediafromthedrivesandturnoffallattacheddevicesandtheserver.Then,disconnectall
powercordsfromelectricaloutletsanddisconnectallcablesthatareconnectedtotheserver.
2.Removetheservercover.See“Removingtheservercover”onpage87.
3.Laytheserveronitssideforeasieroperation.
4.LocatetheThinkServerRAID500Adapter,whichisinstalledinthePCI-Eslot3onthesystemboard.

5.Removeanypartsordisconnectanycablesthatmightimpedeyouroperation.
6.Touchthestatic-protectivepackagethatcontainstheTR500keytoanyunpaintedsurfaceonthe
outsideoftheserver.Then,taketheTR500keyoutofthepackage.

7.LocatetheTR500keyconnectorontheThinkServerRAID500AdapterandtheninserttheTR500key
intotheconnector.YoumightwanttoremovetheRAIDcardrst,installtheTR500keyontheRAID
