Afteryounishviewingorchangingsettings,pressEsctoreturntotheSetupUtilityprogrammaininterface.
Ifyouareonanestedsubmenu,pressEscrepeatedlyuntilyoureachthemaininterface.Then,youcan
dooneofthefollowing:
•IfyouwanttosavethenewsettingsandexittheSetupUtilityprogram,pressF10.Otherwise,your
changeswillnotbesaved.
•Ifyoudonotwanttosavethenewsettings,selectExit➙DiscardChangesandExit.
•Ifyouwanttoreturntothedefaultsettings,pressF9orselectExit➙LoadDefaultValues.

UpdatingorrecoveringtheBIOS

Systemprogramsarethebasiclayerofsoftwarebuiltintoyourserver.SystemprogramsincludethePOST,
theUEFIBIOS,theSetupUtilityprogram,andtheTMMrmware.ThePOSTisasetoftestsandprocedures
thatareperformedeachtimeyouturnonyourserver.TheUEFIBIOSisalayerofsoftwarethattranslates
instructionsfromotherlayersofsoftwareintoelectricalsignalsthattheserverhardwarecanexecute.You
canusetheSetupUtilityprogramtovieworchangethecongurationsettingsofyourserver.See“Usingthe

.TheTMMrmwareprovidesremotemanagementfeatures.

2.DowngradingtheBIOStoanearlierversionisnotrecommendedandmightnotbesupported.Anearlier
BIOSversionmightnotcontainthesupportforthelatestsystemcongurations.
3.IfthepowertoyourserverisinterruptedwhilethePOSTandBIOSarebeingupdated,yourserver
mightnotrestartcorrectly.MakesurethatyouperformtheBIOSupdateprocedureinanenvironment
withasteadypowersupply.Besides,makesurethatyourservercanrestartsuccessfullywithout
encounteringhardwareproblems.
4.IfyouhaveupdatedtheBIOSrmware,alltheBIOSsettingsbecomethedefaultsettingsofthe
updatedBIOSversion.YouneedtocheckandreconguretheBIOSsettingsforyourspecicneeds.
YoucanrecordyourspecicBIOSsettingsbeforeupdatingtheBIOSforaneasierrecongurationin
thenewBIOSversion.
