4.2 Setting up the
Stationary Meas uring Station
For stationary operation, the MarSurf RD 18 can
be affixed to the meas uring stand (see Fig. 10).
Meas uring stands of types ST-D, ST-F and ST-G
can be used.
A mount (6910201) is required for this which is
available as an optional accessory.
To mount the MarSurf RD 18 on the meas uring
stand:
1. Set up the drive unit (see Section 4.1).
The pick-up protection is not absolutely es-
sential for operation on a meas uring stand.
Practical examples:
The MarSurf RD 18 is positioned on the vee-
block bottom or on the vertical adjusters; for
meas urement on level surfaces or in bores;
stylus tip points downwards.
The MarSurf RD 18 is positioned face down
on its top side (three-point support); the vee-
block serves as a holder; for meas urement of
cylindrical testpieces up to 1 kg (2.205 lbs);
stylus tip points upwards.
Depending on the length of the testpiece,
the drive unit can be moved longitudinally
into the front or rear lock-in position.
The MarSurf RD 18 is held in a vertical posi-
tion; the end face vee-block is placed at the
circumference of a cylindrical testpiece; the
stylus tip is in contact with the testpiece's
end face.
