Selecting the profile format (.PCD or .TXT)
The profiles recorded by the MarSurf M 300 can
be stored in two different profile formats:
Profile files with the file extension ".PCD" −
(Perthometer Concept format)
can be read and evaluated using the MarSurf
XR 20 or XP 20 software.
Profile files with the file extension "*.TXT" −
(ASCII format)
are ASCII files in which the individual profile
points are displayed as normalized profile
values. The dimensional profile value in µm
can be calculated by multiplying the stan-
dardized profile value with the vertical pro-
file resolution ("RES").
Profiles in ASCII format can be read with a
conventional text editor or in a spreadsheet
calculation program (e. g. Microsoft Excel).
Saving profiles automatically
If the automatic saving of profiles is switched on,
each valid meas urement is automatically saved
in the internal USB memory. The file name is
generated from the lowest free profile number
and the file extension.
1. In the "Profiles" menu activate the "Auto
saving" check box by pressing the key.
For every subsequent meas urement, the
MarSurf M 300 will save the D-profile in a
new profile file.
5.4 Saving Profiles
The MarSurf M 300 has integrated USB memory
where up to 30 profile files (D-profiles) can be
stored.
