D Relax and remove V-belt; see page 132
D Turn engine to ignition “TDC”. This ensures that
in subsequent assembly work the indicating dial
will be in the correct position

Block the crank gear.
The illustration shows a special tool that is to be
fitted to the inspection port of the flywheel housing.

Loosen the securing screws of the vibration
damper.

Unscrew the two mounting bolts opposite one
another and screw in the guide mandrel (M16x1,5).
Remove all remaining bolts.
Remove the vibration damper.
Caution:
The vibration damper is sensitive to im-
pacts.
Remove oil thrower from the crankshaft.
