10.4 Height limitation, control panel with indicator light
A control panel with integrated height limitation
switch is located at the end of the tableware clearing
section in the pot wash area.
The height limitation switch catches all items of ta-
bleware which protrude above the edge of the tray.
When the limit switch bracket is activated by a piece
of tableware, the installation switches off. Once the
offending item of tableware has been removed and
the limit switch bracket is freed, the installation au-
tomatically switches back on.
The control panel contains the control elements
On/Off, EMERGENCY STOP and, if available, a
toggle switch for the queuing function. The system
goes into operation when the ON key is pressed.
The system switches off when the OFF switch is
pressed.
When the EMERGENCY STOP key is pressed, only the operational area comes to a halt,
as defined by safety technicians. The switch is released by turning the EMERGENCY
STOP key to the right.
Press the "acknowledge" key on the electrical switch cabinet.
Press the ON key on the control panel to start up the installation. The control panel features
an indicator light to indicate when the conveying system has been shut down.
10.5 Turning back on after stopping due to operational needs
The installation features a self-protection mechanism to catch inconsistencies caused by
improper loading of trays with crockery, cutlery, serviettes etc. As far as possible, the in-
stallation detects improper feeding processes, as well as stacked and poorly loaded trays.
A notification is displayed on the touch panel for the purpose of locating the cause of the
shut down during food service as quickly as possible.
Further, a flashing light is located on the control panel in the tableware clearance section
to inform staff of a shut down.
Both the top and bottom end of the conveyor feature a locked inspection door or removable
panel. These areas contain groupings of switches with the following functions:
EMERGENCY STOP, ON/OFF switch, "acknowledge" key to start up installation.
10.5.1 Conveying system with suspended and clad tracks
When using a conveying system with clad tracks suspended from the ceiling or in another
hard-to-reach location, the following must be observed in order to turn the installation back
on after a stop due to operational needs or for cleaning or inspection:
Switch off at the main switch.
Trained, expert personnel to remove cladding or ceiling panels.
Using an appropriate ladder or scaffolding attached/secured to a thread rod with
rope, turn installation back on or carry out inspection or cleaning work.
