6-24 | Model 933 UV Analyzer
6. Install the new lamps:
a. Insert each lamp into its respective holder, making sure the correct
lamp type is in the correct lamp position and ensuring that the
narrow end of each lamp is pushed completely into the holder. Do
not touch the (flat) window at the end of the lamp.
When handling the source lamps, it is very important to avoid touch-
ing the lamp windows because residual oils from the fingers will
absorb ultraviolet light. The window is the flat surface at the end of
the narrow glass tube. The lamp assembly is fragile and should be
handled with care.
b. Lightly tighten each Lamp Clamping Screw to secure each lamp.
Do not overtighten; the spring should not be collapsed.
c. Replace each Lamp Socket and secure them by rotating the Lamp
Retaining Bracket 90 degrees to its original position and tightening
the Lamp Retaining Screw. Do not overtighten; the spring should
not be collapsed. The lamp must be allowed to move so it can be
adjusted later.
It is necessary to work with the Ex d Upper Enclosure door open after
replacing source lamps so that adjustments can be made to the lamps.
Take care not to damage the flanges (flamepaths) on the enclosure.
7. Power up the analyzer and computer. Allow the analyzer to warm up
(30–45 minutes) before continuing.
8. From the Output Setup dialog box, click Alarm Disable to disable
concentration alarms. Click OK.

ter for more information.
