Alarm Type / Alarm Condition Description and Suggested Corrective Action
Warning Bench Temp The Optical Bench temperature has exceeded its Too Hot setpoint or has
fallen below its Too Cold setpoint, or the Optical Bench temperature range is
not set properly. This alarm may occur during a cold start, but will clear after
the temperature zone has stabilized within its normal operating range.
Corrective Action:
From the Temperature Control dialog box, check the Bench Too Hot and
Too Cold setpoints. Also, check the Bench temperature Range; it should be
set to Range “A” (31 °C to 47 °C). See “Temperature Control” in Chapter 4.
Perform the following checks:
Check the ambient temperature around the analyzer; if it is higher than
the Too Hot setpoint or lower than the Too Cold setpoint, adjust the
surrounding temperature to within the Bench temperature measuring
Range.
Take appropriate safety precautions, open the Electronics Enclosures, and:
Check the jumpers at JP301 on the Micro-Interface board for proper
temperature range setting. The typical default jumper setting is Range “A”
(jumpers 2-3). See “Temperature Control” in Chapter 4.
Check the Optical Bench RTD (Upper Enclosure, Figure 6-1) for a short
or an open circuit. Replace the RTD, if necessary. Contact AMETEK to
verify operation before removing this part.
Check the heater control circuit:
- Check fuse F4 on the AC Distribution board in the Lower Enclosure
(Figure 6-14). Replace if necessary.
- Check the OverTemp switch on the Optical Bench. If the plunger has
popped out, press it to reset it.
Replace the Micro-Interface board. Contact AMETEK to verify
operation before removing this board.
