5 OPERATIONAL VERIFICATION
TRANSDUCER VERIFICATION
VERIFY 1000 MMHG PRESSURE TRANSDUCER ACCURACY
Verifying the 1000 mmHg transducers’ accuracy requires the use of:
l 004-09814-00 Paroscientific Pressure Calibration Standard OR
004-09603-00 Crystal Pressure Gauge
l 003-09623-01 Vacuum Calibration Standard. (Super Bee)
1. Attach nitrogen gas at 10 to 15 psig to gas inlet port for Valve 9.
2. Manually pressurize the system including the three sample ports and P
0
port to 800 mmHg ±
50mmHg. If a 10 mmHg transducer is installed, valve 15 must also be open.
3. Remove the sample port filter frits on ports 1 and 2.
4. Install the pressure calibration standard on sample port 1. If using the Paroscientific gauge,
connect it to the analyzer's RS-232 port.
5. Install the vacuum gauge on sample port 2.
6. Install a blank tube or plug on sample port 3.
7. Open valves 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 15 (if present).
8. Open valves 10, 11, 12, and 13.
9. Wait until the vacuum gauge reads vacuum levels below 20 μmHg.
10. Continue evacuation for 10 minutes.
11. Zero the pressure transducers.
a. Go to Unit [n] > Calibration > Zero Pressure.
b. Select:
l Manifold Transducer
l Port 1 Transducer
l Port 2 Transducer
l Port 3 Transducer
l P
0
Transducer
l 10 mmHg transducer (if present)
c. Click Start. If no error messages display, continue to the next step.
12. Select the pressure transducers.
a. Pressurize the manifold, sample ports and P
0
port to 800 to 900 mmHg.
b. Go to Unit [n] > Calibration >Pressure Scale.
c. Select:
l Manifold Transducer
