Note:
Halogen bulb type: 5W/12V/ socket G 4.
4. Put the light cover back on and turn clockwise into place.
4.46 Optical Interface (MDU) Position Indication
1. Press and hold the thermometer
for 10 seconds.
2. A yellow LED in the far right of the control panel will illuminate faintly
to indicate where the MDU/optical interface should be placed.
3. If no light comes on after 10 seconds, turn the main power off and on, and
press and hold the thermometer
again.
4. Always connect the MDU to the appliance being serviced. This is the best
way to monitor and operate the appliance, because all motors, fans and
compressors can be operated, and all switches, NTCs and valves can be
monitored.
4.47 Manually Defrosting the Evaporators
1. Disconnect the appliance from power and remove all food items.
2. Access the evaporators by removing the evaporator covers (see Sections
030-4.6 and 030-4.20).
3. Place towels in the bottom of the appliance to absorb the excess water.
4. Using a steam gun, carefully defrost the evaporator. Avoid leaving the
steam gun in one spot for too long as it could damage the appliance.
5. When the evaporator is completely defrosted, diagnose why the
evaporator froze up.
6. Reinstall the evaporator cover.
Note:
Do not use any sharp or metallic instruments (e.g., screwdrivers or knives)
to remove frost from the evaporator. Do not use a heat gun or hair dryer to
defrost the evaporator, as excessive heat could damage the supports and
the temperature limiters/sensors in the evaporator.
