designed for more than two units. Additionally, there are no Top-Frames
available for SF appliances that would span more than two units.
The combined weight and size of three or more boxes merged as one makes
installation and service prohibitive and dangerous.
If more than two boxes are desired for an installation, one alternative would
be to prepare a separate niche for the additional unit(s). This could also mean
dividing an existing niche with a partition to eliminate the need for a merge kit.
14 Master Cool – Filter Light Reset
All MasterCool freezers contain icemakers. This includes single-door freezers
and bottom-mount freezers. These models also contain water filters. A filter
warning light will appear to alert the consumer that it’s time to replace the
filter. This occurs approximately every six months. Once the filter has been
replaced, it’s up to the consumer to reset the filter warning light.
Originally, the procedure entailed entering customer programming mode,
then navigating to the filter section and choosing the reset option. Beginning
around January 1, 2012, the operating software was modified in production to
provide an easier method for this reset procedure. The new procedure only
requires the consumer to touch and hold two sensors (buttons) for a few
seconds to accomplish the reset.
It’s taken some time for these modified appliances to reach the consumers
and then additional time for the filter light timer to expire. During the last year,
the owners’ manuals were updated to reflect the new procedure.
In some cases, the owners’ manual instructions may not match the software
release in the appliance. On the following pages, we’ve included both sets of
instructions as taken from the respective owners’ manuals. While not exact,
the serial number break is 78313454. You can use this number as a guide
when assisting customers with resetting their water filter lights.
