• To increase the number of handsets for your system, you can overlay additional
bases at a location where you have already successfully installed a base. However,
the total number of handsets must be within system limits and components must be
spaced at least one meter apart.
ORDERING EQUIPMENT
After completing the steps described in this chapter, you can determine the equipment
that you need to order. Consider if users require extra equipment, such as additional
handset charging stands.
When you have the necessary equipment, complete the steps in “MAKE HANDSET
READY” on page 18 and “INSTALL THE BASE STATION” on page 20.
MAKE HANDSET READY
This section describes how to prepare the handset for use. The example chosen is Mitel
612 DECT phone. The pre-configured handsets you receive might already have
batteries installed.
INSPECT PACKAGE CONTENTS
Before you open the package, examine it for evidence of physical damage or mishandling. If
the package appears damaged, report it to the relevant support center of the regional
representative or operator.
The recommended procedure to use for inspection is as follows:
1. Examine all relevant components for damage.
2. If damage is detected, make a “defective on arrival – DOA” report to Mitel Customer
Service. The Mitel Customer Service representative will initiate the necessary procedure
to process the return. They will guide the network administrator on how to return the
damaged package if necessary.
3. If no damage is found, unwrap all the components and dispose of empty
package/carton(s) in accordance with country specific environmental regulations.
CONTENTS
Ensure that the following components were provided in the handset package before
proceeding with the installation:
• 1 x handset and battery cover
• 1 Lithium-Ion battery pack
• 1 x charging cradle with wired A/C adapter
