4 Troubleshooting

Troubleshooting
If a problem occurs while using this product, please try one of the solutions provided below. If the
solution does not work, contact our service department via your dealer for repair.
4.1
If the Following Problem Occurs
Based on the problem, determine the cause and the solution.
Problem Cause Solution
The power does not turn
on when
is pressed.
y The batteries are not
inserted correctly.
y Reinsert the batteries.
y The AC adapter (op-
tional accessory) is not
properly connected.
y Reconnect the AC adapter (optional acces-
sory).
The battery quickly de-
pletes.
The LED is set for contin-
uous use.
y Change the setting of the LED lighting.
Tips
For details, "3.8 Setting the LED Lighting Time"
(page 46)
y Remove the batteries if the product will not
be used for an extended period of time.
The air-oat function does
not work (
is only lit
when the air-oat switch
is pressed).
The batteries are too low
for the air-oat function to
operate.
y Replace all 4 batteries with new ones.
y Connect an AC adapter (optional accesso-
ry).
Tips
The air-oat function uses an excessive amount
of electricity. If you use this function often, us-
ing the optional AC adapter is recommended.
When using the air-oat function, the battery
life (until the air-oat no longer functions) is
around 1.5 hours.
Measurements are not
made even when the ball
of the probe comes in
contact with a workpiece
(there is no beep sound).
The clamp knob is locked. Loosen the clamp knob.
The displayed value is
being held, and the work-
piece cannot be mea-
sured ([H] is displayed on
the LCD screen).
y The displayed value is
held.
y Press
to release the hold function.
y The clamp knob is
locked.
y Follow the instructions in "■ When the dis-
played value is held, and the workpiece
cannot be measured" (page 52) to loosen
the clamp knob.
There is variance in the
measurements.
y The probe clamp knob
is loosened.
y Tighten the probe clamp knob.
y The ball of the probe
contacted the work-
piece with excessive
force.
y Slowly bring the ball into contact with the
workpiece.
