Precautions for Use
Product applications and handling
z
This product is a measuring instrument.
Do not use it for any purposes other than measuring.
z
This product is precision equipment.
It must be carefully handled. Be careful not to apply excessive shock or force to any of the parts
during operation.
Installation environment
Only use this product in the following environments.
y Areas free of dirt and dust
y Areas free of vibrations
y Areas with an ambient temperature between 0 °C and 40 °C (For precision measurements, the
temperature should be consistently around 20 °C.)
y Areas with low humidity
y On a surface plate
Avoid using the product in the following environments.
y In locations where it may directly exposed to cutting uids, water, etc.
y In locations where it may be exposed directly to sunlight or hot or cold wind
y In locations near machines that generate electromagnetic noise, such as welders or electrical
discharge machines
Maintenance
y Clean the main unit, base, or probe by wiping it with a lint-free cloth or paper towel dampened with
a neutral detergent. Do not use an organic solvent such as a thinner.
y In order to prevent dirt and dust accumulation, we recommend covering the main unit with the
included product cover.
Power supply
y Turn off the power after use.
y Do not connect the AC adapter (optional accessory) to a high-current power supply used by ma-
chine tools or large CNC measuring instrument.
y If the power to the product is cut off by removing the batteries or the AC adapter (optional accesso-
ry) cable, the following contents will be erased:
y Incremental measurement (INC) reference

INC reference setup" (page 13)
y Reference for calculating the difference between 2 measurements
"3.1.2 Continuously Measuring the Distance from One Specic Point to Multiple Other Points"

y Measurements stored in the memory
