6.3.2
Long-T
erm Storage
Long-Term Storage sets the IMPRES 2 battery to a State of Charge (SoC) suitable when storing the battery
for a long period of time.
The preferred SoC for storage is significantly less than fully charged, such as 50 %. Long-Term Storage at
75 % Rated Capacity is available for scenarios requiring the stored battery to be at a higher SoC such as
minimizing full-charge time if the battery must be quickly fielded or enabling storage for a longer period of
time.
Long-Term Storage applies only to IMPRES 2 batteries. Other batteries such as Unknown or Motorola
Solutions non-IMPRES 2 or Clamshell batteries are faulted.

6.3.3
IMPRES 2 Batteries with Sleep Mode
Some IMPRES 2 batteries are equipped with a Sleep mode which is used to extend the time until the next
battery charge. Upon completion of Ship Lithium or Long-T
erm Storage charging, the charger puts these
batteries to sleep.
Placing a sleeping IMPRES 2 battery into any charger wakes the battery up. If the battery is prepared for
Lithium Shipment, placing it into a charger set to Ship Lithium puts the battery back to sleep. If the battery is
prepared for Long-Term Storage, placing it into a charger set for Long-Term Storage puts the battery back to
sleep.
