Charger Troubleshooting

Problem What to do...
The pocket LED does not flash green for approxi-
mately one second for charger power-on.
Make sure that the power cord is securely plugged
into the charger and an appropriate AC power out-
let. Ensure that there is power to the outlet.
Inspect fuses and replace as necessary.
A battery or radio is inserted into the pocket, but
the pocket LED remains Off and the battery is not
identified on the adjacent display.
If the pocket is not Pocket 1 and Power Saver is
enabled, press the Menu button.

Blinking red LED and display (if available) shows
NOT CHARGEABLE REMOVE& REINSERT or a Mo-
torola Solutions battery is in the pocket, but the
display (if available) shows UNKNOWN BATTERY.
● Remove the battery or radio from the pocket.
● Inspect the electrical contacts on the battery
and in the charger pocket for contamination,
corrosion, or physical damage.
● Verify that the battery is an authorized Motorola
Solutions battery listed in Motorola Solutions
Authorized Batteries. Other batteries may not
charge.
● Clean the battery electrical contacts using a
dry cloth.
● Remove power from the charger, then clean
the pocket electrical contacts using a dry cloth.
● Remove the insert from the charger. Clean the
insert connector using a brush or blower and
place the insert into the charger. To remove
and install the insert, refer to Pocket Insert In-
stallation.
● Try replacing the battery. If the fault no longer
exists, take the faulted battery out of service. If
the fault persists with the replacement battery,
take the charger out of service.
Alternating red and green LED at the end of the
calibration.
The IMPRES 2 battery may be nearing End-of-
Service. The battery is usable, however the availa-
ble capacity may not be suited for heavy use over
an extended shift.
In the Analyzer Mode Pocket 1 can display another
pocket.
The charger is unable to detect the display on at
least one of the other pockets.
