digitized and transmitted to the personal computer running the Natus NeuroWorks/SleepWorks software.
The signals are displayed on the personal computer and can be recorded to the computer's local storage
or to remote networked storage for later review.
The following diagram illustrates the components and the workflow in a typical setup with
NeuroWorks/SleepWorks main unit:

Quantum Breakout (amplifier):
Neurophysiological signals like
EEG, EMG, EOG, ECG are
measured using commonly
available electrodes and sensors
connecting to the amplifier through
standard DIN42802 touch-proof
connectors. Low voltage EEG,
EMG EOG or ECG signals are
amplified, low pass filtered and
converted from analog to digital.

The Natus Base Unit, connected
to the computer through a
standard Ethernet or USB cable,
allows for connection of the
breakout box and a photic
stimulator.

Video is captured and
synchronized with EEG

A Photic stimulator may be
connected to the Natus base unit
and controlled from the
NeuroWorks/SleepWorks
acquisition software.

NeuroWorks/SleepWorks
software controls the amplifier
and records data to the hard disk.
The data is displayed with a user
configurable referential or bipolar
montage.

Computer running Windows OS
and NeuroWorks/SleepWorks
software. Data from Quantum
amplifier system and camera are
stored locally or on a server.
