Locking your e228
This section describes how to prevent your phone from being used except for answering voice/video calls. Sometimes when
a task has already started, it continues even after you have locked your phone.
When your phone is locked, you cannot switch it off. Remember to unlock it before switching it off.
Setting the Key lock
You can only set the key lock from the Home screen. Even when some tasks are open, you can return to the Home screen by
pressing the Start key.
To set the Key lock on/off
Emergency calls under the Key lock
While the phone is locked, you can make emergency calls only to the designated numbers. Follow the steps below to make
emergency calls while the key lock is set.
To Do This
1 Set the Key lock on/off
On the Home screen, press the MENU key and key.
To Do This
1 Enter the designated emergency number Enter the designated emergency number (see Making an emergency call
on page 18 for the designated numbers).
The confirmation message is displayed.
Note: The screen below is displayed until you enter the designated
emergency number correctly.
2 Call the number Press SK1 (Yes).
Your e228 is unlocked temporarily and the emergency call is made.
